With so much going on during September on the Isle of Wight, anyone planning on taking a trip there is sure to find something exciting to do.

Getting to the island is easy with Isle of Wight ferries running to the island form the UK mainland hundreds of times a day. They are the quickest and easiest way to get from the mainland to the Isle of Wight for both pedestrians and cars.

On the 4th September the Ryde Illuminated carnival will be taking place. Each year Ryde has five carnivals. With over 50,000 spectators gathering each year to watch 2,000 performers you know you’re guaranteed a treat. Viewing the displays on offer is great entertainment for young and old alike.

For train enthusiasts, the IOW Model Railway Exhibition runs from the 11th to the 12th of September. With exquisite models ranging from steam trains to diesels there’s plenty to see. Once you’ve had a look round the miniature versions you’re then invited to have a ride on the real thing. This quaint steam railway promises to entertain and educate the whole family.

The Isle of Wight classic car show displays a whole wealth of spectacular international classic cars. Now in its ninth year, the 18th and 19th of September will see Newport Quay and Ryde Esplanade display hundreds of beautiful cars. All money raised throughout the day is always donated to local charities on the island so you can be sure you’re money to going to a good cause.

The Isle of Wight not only attracts walkers and ramblers but also cyclists too. Each year thousands of cyclists take part in the annual Isle of Wight Cycling festival. The 18th to 26th September will see cyclists take on the 70 miles of beautiful costs encircling the island. With over 60 rides ranging from easy to difficult including several family friendly events, this could be the perfect way to see the island whilst having some fun.
