The Flintstones programs provide some great ideas for costumes for the whole family. Just the thing for Halloween.

If you’ve grown up with the Flintstones then you’ll know that they are Bedrock’s most famous modern Stone Age family. The father of the family is Fred Flinstone. He works as a dinosaur operator at Slate Rock and Gravel. He’s a larger than life character. He is loudmouthed, short-tempered and always getting involved in one ill-fated scheme after another. He loves bowling, playing pool and poker, but most of all he loves lounging around the house much to the chagrin of his wife, Wilma. However, even though he does tend to annoy Wilma, he is very caring, loving and friendly. “Yabba Dabba Doo” is his trademark exclamation. If you dress as him for Halloween, it’s a great thing to exclaim!

Fred’s red-headed wife is called Wilma. She is very long suffering! Wilma is a typical housewife. What is interesting is the variety of prehistoric implements she has. For example, she uses an elephant vacuum cleaner and a pelican washing machine. She enjoys shopping and doing charity work with her best friend and neighbour Betty. She’s always having to get Fred out of trouble after one of his schemes goes wrong as well as moaning at him because of his laziness at home.

Pebbles is the daughter of Fred and Wilma. She’s an only child. As an infant, Pebbles becomes best friends with Barney and Betty’s adopted son, Bamm-Bamm. When she grows up into an adult, she eventually marries Bamm-Bamm. Pebbles is such a cute little character, with her red hair like her mother with a bone instead of a bow in her hair.
