RakeTheRake would like to take a look at some of the more unusual traditions that are around during the Easter festival.  It would seem that nowadays Easter is not all about going to church, hunting for Easter eggs and Easter bunnies.

And so the rakeback specialist has decided to add its own unique celebration to the festivities by inviting online poker players to join them on Easter Sunday, 4 April, for a special 400,000 US Dollar freeroll.  This sounds like a brilliant idea and certainly beats searching around the back garden for the elusive Easter bunny.

There are many traditions associated with Easter, but by far the oddest tradition at Easter seems to be one from the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia.  It would seem that  custom dictates the whipping or spanking of women on Easter Monday. Before the spanking gets underway the women are saturated in water and then take up handmade whips which are made out of willow and decorated with ribbons. Allegedly this ritual is symbolic and used to retain female health and beauty into the following year. This is certainly an interesting tradition, but not one that I believe will be followed by many countries.

Despite being a firm favourite in the US, the good old Easter bunny has found no favour in Australia where they prefer to popularise the Bilby, a native marsupial. Due to it’s destruction of land and crops, the rabbit has been rejected.

Last but not least if you are a man from Poland, around Easter time make sure you don’t dare to help make the traditional Easter bread. Custom here has it that your moustache will turn grey and the dough will fail to rise. So best, sit back, play some poker and enjoy the Easter feast then!

To get an eggs-traordinary return from your poker game, why not see what Rakeback Deals are available and get yourself involved in a game of PokerStars Rakeback, or perhaps Full Tilt Poker.  Whichever game you may choose to play, it’s got to be better winning pounds them eating chocolate and putting them on!!
